Gratituesday

This week I am especially thankful to my husband. He knows that we are starting school in a few short days. He also knows that due to a very busy summer I have had little to no school planning time, so for the past 10 days he has made a huge effort to take the kids somewhere every night and on the weekend so I could spend time planning. It is amazing how much planning I can accomplish when I don’t have interruptions.
I really appreciate him doing this because he works hard and I am sure does not feel like taking six kids out of the house almost every night of the week plus the weekend. They have gone to the park, to the mall, to the movies, out for ice cream, and to the store. The kids have had a great time with dad and I am sure this was a great ending to their summer.
He has also happily eaten some crazy leftover type meals because I didn’t want to stop my planning time long enough to make a real dinner. He has also done more than his fair share of chores this week so that I could focus on school.
I know that he truly is behind our homeschooling because he supports me in this practical way. I am truly thankful for all his help over the past two weeks!

What a wonderful hubby! My kids aren’t very happy with me because we started school a week after they finished their public school. We couldn’t start homeschooling until the adoption went through. I wanted to make sure they where somewhat caught up before they started full time homeschooling this fall. We will be starting Monday!

How nice that they were able to have such nice outings with their dad…and that you have been able to spend time planning. Everyone wins!

Marriage is a partnership, and you have a committed partner in your efforts. My hubby and I both work full-time, and we have always split duties around the house and with rearing our child.
I hope I don’t get any flames for this, because I know a lot of people do not have this type of marriage, but it always rankles me when someone talks about their husband “watching the kids” for them. It’s called PARENTING. Dads don’t babysit. If more dads were like your husband, kids in this country would not be in the mess they are in. I believe a lot of problems kids have (and, incidentally, a lot of the issues they will have as adults in their relationship with God) are because men do not model Godly fathership to their kids.
They will surely cherish this one-on-six (lol) time with their dad and remember it as they grow older.
