I Love Firefox

I’ve been using the Firefox browser for quite some time, and I still find valuable, useful tools on a regular basis. The latest Add-on I’ve included is the FireFTP. Before I had this add-on I would design my web pages on one application (Dreamweaver, Nvu, etc.)…then open another FTP application to find my files and upload my fresh web copy specialist information.

Thanks to FireFTP I can easily skip the extra step and upload my files using another tab in my browser. I simply set up my connection like I would with any FTP application, hit connect, and bingo…I’m ready to pick and choose the files on my computer and where they go on my hosting server. Very, very cool.

Combine this with my Zemanta plugin and my blog biz just got a whole lot less complicated.

Ain’t technology grand?!

Stay tuned,

FireFTP is awesome, isn’t it? This post gave me an idea – thanks!

It really is awesome, Jason. So seamless.

Glad I could inspire an idea. :-)

Go get ‘em!

[...] reading Tony Writes blog post about FireFTP, it got me thinking: what are my most useful Firefox Plugins…and why don’t I share them [...]

Steve Says:

I first started using FireFTP when I couldn’t find my license code for WS-FTP. Haven’t look back since.

Question for you though… Do you use the FTP capability of Dreamweaver as well? I typically have DW set up to “Automatically upload files to server on save” and then do a site synchronize for additional files like images. (All under the Site menu of Dreamweaver)

Tony Says:

I’m with you Steve. As a matter of fact, when I used Dreamweaver, I did use the FTP all the time. It’s an excellent application
all around. I had it on my Gateway PC way back when. But after I moved all my computer life to Mac I didn’t get the software.
I use Nvu, WordPress, and FireFTP for all my web design and storing work.
