Yet Again…
Yet again, I had another NY Cares project cancelled on me. Last time, the book sorting project was cancelled because the previous volunteers were super efficient in sorting the books. This time, we got to the project site, six kids cancelled and only two kids showed up. It was inevitable the project was doomed to be cancelled. We couldn’t have a 5:1 ratio between the volunteers and participating kids. So the team leader sent us all home. In the end a bunch of us, started walking down East Houston street heading over to Broadway. It was quite warm outside with lots of clouds.
Along the way, a few of us stopped by Yonah Schimmel’s, downtown knish store. They known for their world famous handmade knish. I ended up buying a sweet potato and a cherry cheese knish. The total came up to $ 3.10. Not bad.
