The Rat Race

Let’s end this on a happier note. I was just chatting with a friend via AIM last night, and she informed me she’s engaged. Yup, I’m in that age bracket. They’re all starting to get hitched. I’m very happy for her. But soon, there is going to be the married friends and the single friends. And guess where I’ll be. Me the spinster. Don’t laugh. It’s so true. Don’t be suprised if I’m still single when I turn 30. I know it’s only a few years away. Those years creep up pretty fast.

So what’s the issue. I don’t know. But it seems when people get married they go into their own little world. They only hang out with couples. I know it’s not intentional, but sometimes you can’t help feeling that they frown upon single people. Soon they’ll be thinking about having kids and starting a family. And the vicious cycle continues. I know I know. I can turn the most happy thing in someone life totally dark. I can’t help it. I’m a cynic by nature.
