The worst dining experience in my whole life. I don’t mind sharing communal tables, but they try to cram everyone in such a small space. It didn’t make dining in the restaurant anymore plesant.

If David Chang was named the best new chef by Food and Wine, he might want to consider hiring a new kitchen staff. Overall the food was mediocre. Portions were small and would probably be a meal more fitting for a model. It was overpriced and the food was crap.

The all mighty pork bun was okay. It wasn’t spectacular. The fried brussel sprouts were excellent despite the fact it was a tad to salty. The staff was attentive. But more in the lines of refilling your drinks and clearing dishes that haven’t been finished.

I’ve never been so disappointed. It goes to show that the Momofuku brand is more hype than anything else.

Yesterday, M&M and I went over to check out Joyce Bakeshop in Prospect Heights. And it was Mmm good. Their cupcakes were tiny. But they look so good. It was very moist and had too much sugar. And for $2.00 I was expecting a little bit more. I was expecting the cupcake they had on their website.

I was up in the 30s this afternoon. And I saw a White Castle. And I had such a craving. Mmmm… I caved in and got 4 cheeseburgers and immediately scarfed it down. I want more WHITE CASTLE now. Feed me. It’s so bad, but it’s so good. When I got back to the office, my co-worker asked me if I had it with the jalapeno cheese. What jalapeno cheese. Next time, I guess.

One thing I should not do in the middle of the night. And that is read my friend’s blog. He has this huge ass picture of an IN-N-OUT burger. I WANT. Too bad I can’t take it out of the picture. Sure we have Jamba Juice. But I want an IN-N-OUT burger. Darn, I’m hungry now. Maybe one of my Cali friends can put a burger in a vacuum seal bag and Fedex it to me. Now that’s an idea. But that means I still have to wait another 24 hours for my burger. Bah! I’m not going to win either way.  Maybe we can have an IN-N-OUT Cookout Trailer at the next company picnic.  Hmm…..

There was no whispering wind out there last night. After departing the pottery studio I ran some errands and went out dinner with my friend EH. We headed over to the Chip Shop in Park Slope. Bad idea. It was a good 10 block walk which isn’t that bad in normal sunny weather. But we didn’t think we had to battle the wind and the rain. My umbrella is totally toasted. It’s been flipped over and dragged. Very reminiscent of the whirling wind around the quads on my old college campus. We survived the wind’s whiplash and was seated for our fish and chips. It wasn’t that warm in the restaurant but the food was pretty average. And we couldn’t bare to go back out into the wind. At first it was okay with the wind against us. Of course, it started raining harder. So we ducked into Commerce Bank. And quivering at the thought of going back out in the cold. So into the woods we go, okay just the streets. As we started marching down the street to be met with hail. Only 3 more blocks to Keyfood. I must find those soy nuts. My co-worker got me hooked. Onward, we go. We get into Keyfood, and let’s say it was warmer in there then it was at Chipshop and Commerce Bank combined. Up and down the aisles I go and there was no freaking soy nuts. I’m literally grumbling on my way up and down the aisles. I’m just glad I’m finally out of the wind. I really don’t know if I want to venture out into the wind. I might get swept off my feet.

My friend VM just got back from having the infamous Katz’s pastrami. Strangely enough, I had just gone to Katz’s last week with JD. VM was in awe that it was my first time there. Quite a shocker for a native New Yorker. I’ve always past by Katz’s but never really been in there. I was a little bit suprised that you have to leave with a ticket. The pastrami was pretty good, but I also like Carnegie deli. But it’s all good.

I think I need to start carrying granola bars with me. I was so hungry after my workout that I crashed and headed into McDonald’s. Yes, I did. I got some small fries and totally inhaled. It felt like my first bite of food all day which isn’t true. At least I didn’t order a Big Mac. It was either fries or a McFlurry. But I think if I didn’t get any food in my system I would have totally past out.

I’m so weak. While walking down Cobbler’s row, I ran into another cream puff place. At first, I thought it was Puff & Pao which I know was located in the West Village vicinity. But it was not. It was none other than the new cream puff place Choux Factory. I broke down and got a regular and strawberry cream puff. I feel so guilty, like I was cheating on my beloved Beard Papa . Thankfully, Choux Factory is nowhere near the supreriority of Beard Papa. In the words of the Iron Chef, Beard Papa reigns supreme as one of the best cream puff.

What is it with the office and food. But we’re talking about food. The other day, while preparing my lunch a few of my co-workers were weaving in and out of the kitchen. And they all had the same reaction to my Nutella. It was always N-U-T-E-L-L-A like they were in some kind of trance. So what charm has this sweet hazelnut cream put on my co-workers and everyone around. I just know that they’re just enctranced. I didn’t stumble upon Nutella until last year while I was backpacking around the Benealux region. It was the staple of every breakfast in all the hostels. Nutella and jam. Maybe I need to hid my Nutella. Then this afternoon I was heating up the remaining portion of my lunch. This chicken with proscuitto, mozarella and olives and some linguini. Apparently, the garlic from my dish has permutated the office with everyone sniffing around for garlic. Kind of funny. At least I know there are no vampires in the office. Smile Immediately, I get an IM from my co-worker that I can’t heat stuff up with garlic that late in the afternoon. And of course I promptly ask why. She said that I was making everyone hungry. Oh wells. I guess that’s what I get for having a late lunch.

This morning I realized that I was having organic yogurt and granola. Personally, I think it’s a whole marketing ploy. Organic doesn’t really taste much different from non-organic food. I’m sure there are some people that disagree with me. I see no point to the mark-up cost. I picked up the granola from the street fair because it tasted good. As for the yogurt I really didn’t have a choice. All they had was the Stonyfield organic yogurt at the supermarket. So, organic this.
