93, passed away July 31, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Angelo, her brother Robert as well as her grandson Michael. Caroline is survived by her sister Beatrice DiGiacomo, three sons, Larry, Richard and Albert, as well as her grandchildren, Robin, Angela, Kimberly and Robert. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11001 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Caroline’s honor may be made to Hospice of the Valley, for the benefit of The Sherman Home, 5801 E. Mayo Blvd., Phx., AZ, 85054.

88, our beloved mother and grandmother “Mimi”, died peacefully on July 29, 2009 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Eveleth, MN on January 4, 1921. She graduated from the university in St. Cloud, MN with a degree in English. While waiting for her husband to return from WWII, she got a job on the local radio station in Virginia, MN and had very fond memories of that time. She and her husband and sons moved to Phoenix in 1952 and she was a very active stay-at-home Mom. When not helping out at her boys’ schools, she volunteered for the Toby House Guild and the Kachina Woman’s Club. She is predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Hall and sons Stephen Hall and Scott Hall. She is survived by her son, Terry F. Hall, his wife Lisa and their daughters Sarah and Katie Hall. Also surviving are daughter-in-law Annabelle Hall, grandson Reid Hall Maya and granddaughter Ryan Sullivan Brandon; great granddaughter Leigh Sullivan, great grandson Oren Sullivan and great grandson Stephen Hall. Nelma was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be missed very much. Private services held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made
to the Alzheimer’s Association, Desert Southwest Chapter, 1028 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85006 or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

79 of Phoenix, AZ passed away on July 28th 2009. Charlie was born to Charles Kiesling and Anna Shaw Kiesling on September 30th, 1929 in New York. He married Mary Brenner on April 16, 1959 and had two daughters. Charlie moved his family to Phoenix in 1970. He was a hard-working man who never expected something for nothing. He had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed getting to know people. Charlie leaves behind and will be greatly missed by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ephram Cordova; Granddaughter and her husband, Kelly and Bryan Holland and grandchildren, Madison, Jillian and Andrew Cordova. He is predeceased by Mary and his daughter Carol Galvez. Per his wishes there will not be any services.

Born in Newberry, SC and moved to Tucson in 1931. Harold graduated Tucson High School in 1946. Harold began his banking career with Southern Arizona Bank in l946. Other than his draft into the Korean War, he enjoyed a very successful career with the Southern Arizona Bank. Harold was transferred to Phoenix in l975 where he remained controller with what is now Wells Fargo Bank. Harold had a passion for golf and it became his second successful career after his early banking retirement in l983. Harold and his wife were long standing members of the Arizona Country Club. Harold died 9 weeks after the sudden death of his beloved wife of 49 years and 51 weeks. Harold is survived by his only child, Thomas Mann and his son’s partner Lance Davidson. A celebration of Harold’s generous life will be held Saturday, August 1st, 1:00 pm, at the Arizona Inn, 2200 East Elm Street, Tucson, AZ. A private Military Service will be held in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, please join in Harold’s life long commitment to the Crisis Nursery. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.

Rosenda Cervantes passed away on Thursday morning, June 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Cervantes and her first born son, Raymond Jr. She is survived by three sons, Arnold, Jimmy and Robert. Rosenda is also survived by her sister Marina Frias and her brother Roman A. Rodriguez. Her family deeply grieves her passing and can only take comfort that she is in the loving embrace of her loved ones who passed before her and that she now smiles and watches over her surviving family who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 6:00
